Howard University College of Medicine provides students of high academic potential with a medical education of exceptional quality and prepares physicians and other health care professionals to serve the underserved. Particular focus is on the education of disadvantaged students for careers in medicine. Special attention is directed to teaching and research activities that address health care disparities.

Prerequisite coursework
- Biochemistry1 semester of Biochemistry.
- Biology1 year of Biology is required including labs. (Biology 1 & 2)
- Chemistry1 year of General/Inorganic chemistry with lab, and 1 year of Organic Chemistry with lab
- Composition & Rhetoric1 year of English required. Writing intensive courses that satisfy your institutions second english requirement can be used as a substitution for our English 2 requirement.
- Mathematics1 year of Mathematics, any college level math courses including statistics.
- Physical ChemistryOrganic chemistry with lab, 2 semesters
- Physics1 year of Physics 1 & 2 with lab.
