PreMD

Terms of Service

Effective date: July 12, 2026  ·  Last revised: August 11, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern use of the PreMD platform at premd.org (the "Service"). By creating an account, opening a guest workspace, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Who operates this Service

PreMD is an independent, non-commercial project, operated and maintained by an individual in the United States. Correspondence should be directed to contact@premd.org.

The Service is provided free of charge and on an "as is" basis. There is no paid tier, no advertising, and no fee of any kind. Availability, features, and continuity are not guaranteed, and you should retain your own copy of anything you would not want to lose: Settings provides a complete export of your record at any time, and we recommend exporting periodically.

PreMD is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the AAMC, AACOM, any medical school, or any test-preparation or admissions service.

PreMD is not advice. It is a planning and record-keeping tool. Nothing in it is admissions, academic, financial, legal, or medical advice, and no part of it predicts or guarantees any admissions outcome. Verify every deadline, requirement, and figure against the school's own published materials and the official AMCAS, AACOMAS, or TMDSAS resources before you rely on it.

2. The Service

PreMD provides academic planning tools for students on the path to medicine, including study planning, record-keeping, application organization, curated references, and privacy-protected community admissions statistics. The Service is currently provided at no charge to students.

3. Educational information, not professional advice

Content in the Service, including study schedules, score projections, application timelines, cost estimates, and references to third-party requirements, is general educational information. It is not medical, legal, financial, or admissions advice, and it is not a guarantee of any examination score or admissions outcome. Requirements, dates, and fees of examining bodies and schools change; always verify them with the official source (for example, the AAMC and the schools to which you apply).

4. Accounts and acceptable use

5. Your content and your data

You retain all rights in the records, essays, and other content you create in the Service ("Student Records"). You grant us only the limited license necessary to store, process, display, and synchronize Student Records for you, which is the operation of the Service itself. We claim no other rights in your content. You may export your Student Records at any time using the tools in Settings, and you may delete them at any time.

If you submit a review for publication, you grant us a nonexclusive license to display it in the Service once approved, together with the display name you provide. You may request removal of a published review at contact@premd.org.

If the separately gated discussion community is enabled, adults who accept the current community rules may submit school discussions, secondary approaches, personal statement excerpts, critiques, and responses. Contributions that pass automated screening may appear publicly immediately. Obvious contact information, identifiers, spam patterns, threats, and confidential-interview language may be held automatically; a score-adjusted threshold of distinct reports may also withhold content for human review. You retain ownership and grant PreMD a nonexclusive license to store, screen, review, moderate, display, and distribute material you intentionally submit. PreMD may hold, reject, remove, preserve as evidence, rate-limit, or restrict content or accounts to protect users and the Service.

Discussion users must not post doxxing or identifying details; harassment, threats, brigading, impersonation, cheating, fabricated allegations, patient information, names or identifying details of faculty/interviewers/staff, or confidential and NDA-protected interview or assessment content. General interview formats, preparation strategies, non-confidential experiences, and constructive writing feedback are permitted. Voting or reputation does not establish accuracy, expertise, admissions standing, or endorsement by PreMD.

If the separately gated secondary-prompt library is enabled, signed-in users may submit a current prompt collection they personally received or verified on an official school page. Every applicant submission enters a private verification queue; receipt is not permission for public republication. Exact text, excerpts, independently authored themes, comparisons, history, community discussion, exports, source links, or private-workspace copying are available only when the active reviewed rights record permits that particular use. Otherwise the library may show school/cycle metadata, an authorized official link, a theme-only fallback, and a blank private workspace where you can paste a prompt you personally received. You may confirm a fully displayed published collection only when you personally received every displayed prompt for the stated cycle; confirmation never expands publication rights. You must identify the cycle and source truthfully and remove names, application IDs, portal tokens, invitation links, and other personal details. PreMD may verify, edit for privacy, reject, correct, retire, remove, or audit a collection or confirmation, and provides a correction/takedown request control. The applicant's own invitation and the school's portal remain authoritative.

6. Optional community outcomes

Real contribution collection is disabled and must remain disabled until PreMD identifies its legal operator and jurisdiction, publishes accountable contacts, and completes the documented legal, security, privacy, incident-response, and release-review gates.

After a reviewed launch, an adult may separately opt in to contribute the minimized facts described in the Privacy Policy. Contribution is voluntary, is not required for private features or public viewing, and creates no admissions advantage. You must review the exact snapshot, affirm that it is your own cycle, and accept the current notice; academic bands require a separate unchecked choice.

You retain ownership of contributed facts and give PreMD a nonexclusive license to validate, combine, analyze, and transform them solely to operate this program and publish privacy-reviewed aggregates. You may correct, replace, withdraw, or delete retained contribution records. Withdrawal excludes raw facts from future releases but cannot retroactively recompute or recall a fixed aggregate already published, downloaded, cached, quoted, or copied.

You may not contribute fabricated, duplicate, manipulative, or another person's records. Results are a self-selected, incomplete sample, not school-quality rankings, representative estimates, advice, or individual predictions. PreMD may delay, suppress, band, withhold, freeze, or quarantine results under the Community Outcomes Methodology.

7. PreMD's intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, the PreMD name, the PreMD crest, and original content, is the property of PreMD and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Except for your own Student Records, no part of the Service may be copied, modified, distributed, sold, or used to create a derivative or competing service without our prior written permission. The PreMD name and crest may not be used in a way that suggests affiliation or endorsement. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

8. Third-party services and references

The Service links to third-party resources and uses Supabase, Cloudflare, optional Google sign-in/Calendar, and optional user-selected BYOK AI providers. Those services have their own terms and policies. References do not imply endorsement.

9. Availability and changes to the Service

We work to keep the Service available and accurate, but it is provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation. We may add, change, or retire features. Where a change would materially reduce your ability to access your Student Records, we will use reasonable efforts to provide notice and an export opportunity.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PREMD AND ITS OPERATORS, VOLUNTEERS, AND CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, OPPORTUNITY, OR ADMISSIONS OUTCOMES, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE. WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED, IT IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS (US $100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE PRECEDING TWELVE MONTHS.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time; exporting and deleting your records is always available to you first. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violation of these Terms, with notice where practicable.

13. Governing law

PreMD is operated from the United States, and these Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Nothing in these Terms limits any right available to you under the mandatory consumer-protection or data-protection law of your own place of residence, and nothing here is intended to deprive you of a forum in which to raise a complaint. Where the governing terms change, this section and the revision date above will be updated.

14. Changes to these Terms

Material changes receive a new revision date and, where appropriate, in-product notice. A material change to outcomes purpose or uses requires new affirmative consent before another contribution.

15. Contact

Questions about these Terms, the Service, privacy, or a suspected security incident go to contact@premd.org, monitored by the maintainer. We aim to acknowledge privacy and security reports promptly. Access and deletion do not require contacting anyone: Settings exports your complete record and deletes your workspace and account directly.
